Street Hockey Tournament
Saturday, May 2019
Stay tuned for next year's schedule
How much is it? The cost for each team registered is $160.00 for youth and $180 for adults due at time of online registration. Each participant and one coach will receive free entry into the entire 2018 Life & Leisure Expo.
What does a team get for the registration? We would provide a three game minimum tournament. Each game is two 12 minutes halves. Each team will receive 7 free tickets to attend a 2018/19 Saints hockey game.
Who can register? Anyone between the ages of 7 and 12 on teams (Novice, Atom, Pee Wee in 2017/18 season) can register a team with at least one “coach” over 18 years of age. 18+ division is open to adults with a special invite to our business community. You won’t need the full roster at registration, but we do need the rosters provided by May 11th for the form pick up. All players on each team must be in the same age category.
How many players per team? Each team can register 7 - 9 players (two lines of three and a goalie -who will play in full goalie gear). The minimum players is 4 (one forward line and one goalie). Players are required to wear hockey helmets and gloves, goalies will be in full goalie gear. Each team is encouraged to have matching t-shirts – custom made, just matching, actual jerseys, or anything that makes it a “team” look.
When is the tournament? It is Saturday, May 12th 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Is there a limit on number of teams? We are offering five divisions – Novice (7-8), Atom (9-10) Pee Wee (11-12) Bantam (13-14) and *new this year* 18+ division each with their own “rink”. A maximum of 7 teams per division will allow for two 12 minute halves, three game guarantees. The first games start at 10 AM and conclude with the championship finals for each category at 5:30 pm.
Where is the tournament being held? It will be played on the West side of the Agrena, under the “Spruce Grove Saints” logo. This will occur during the 2018 Family Life & Leisure Expo that is offering free water stations, budget and family friendly food trucks and concessions, and all free fun like Laser Tag, Petting Zoo, Pirate Ship, Inflatable Playground, Carnival Games, FMX Show, appearances from the likes of Spider-Man and Cinderella, an entertainment Main Stage, and a plethora of FREE activities to do in between games.
What is the game area like? Asphalt parking lot, with temporary fencing for each of the four rinks (50’ x 80’).
Refereeing? We are very excited to have our Saints officiate! This is your chance to get up close and personal with some great athletes in our community.
